Alpha Epsilon Phi Foundation Board of Trustees Roles & Expectations An Alpha Epsilon Phi Foundation Trustee should be interested in the longevity and financial stability of Alpha Epsilon Phi. The Foundation Board is a working board, and as such, each Trustee must be prepared to do their part to contribute to the success of the Alpha Epsilon Phi Foundation.
Each Trustee must:
- Donate a minimum of $360 to the Foundation Annual Fund by December 31 of each calendar year or partial calendar year served. This can be given over the course of a calendar year or in a lump sum.
- Be a previous 1909 Fund Donor or contribute $1909 over three years toward the Foundation’s $1909 Scholarship Fund.
- Attend one in-person meeting annually as circumstances allow for in-person gatherings and participate in monthly virtual meetings.
- In addition to the required minimum donation, cover the cost of personal hotel, parking, meals, and other expenses for in-person meetings (transportation is covered by Foundation). This can vary, but Trustees should expect this amount to be in the range of $350-$400.
- Spend an average of 5-10 hours per month on Foundation business, depending on roles, committee positions, and current needs.
- Serve on at least one Foundation committee.
- Serve as a Foundation officer, as needed.
- Lead a project, committee, or development of a campaign or program each term.
- Serve as a chapter liaison and actively recruit donors for the Founders’ Day Challenge.
- Solicit meaningful gifts for the Foundation in accordance with the Foundation’s fundraising goals.
- Declare any potential conflict of interest (e.g., owning a business that may directly benefit from Foundation; have a relative that has received a Foundation Scholarship in the past academic year or plans to apply for a Foundation Scholarship).
- Have experience in fundraising or other areas critical to the operation of Foundation.
- Possess good communication skills.
- Be comfortable working as part of a team.
